Heatherwood Court's forty eight beds are organised into four discreet units on the basis of clinical need allowing for much greater flexibility. All patients have single bedrooms and all bathrooms are well equipped and able to meet the needs of those requiring assistance. Communal areas are bright and spacious and include quiet lounges and recreational areas.

Heatherwood Court aims to provide a positive and healing experience within conditions that met the needs of the individual. The therapeutic programme will reflect the need to offer interventions and activities over a extended ‘therapeutic day’ and support the clients in as normalised an environment as is possible to achieve.
Heatherwood Court believes that every activity and experience is useful and has a therapeutic value and has committed to this philosophy by providing flexible, well resourced interventions in a dedicated therapy block which offers both formal and informal therapeutic space.
The emphasis is firmly on rehabilitation with the expectation that Heatherwood Court will provide a turning point in the lives of all who spend time here, balanced with the need to offer treatment that reflects the individuals pace. Our clients will be participating and receiving evidence based innovative and consistent therapy and interventions that will assist their progress towards more independent living. As this progress is achieved, the company has the facilities to support clients to move through their specialist group homes providing a further step toward total independence.
The care we give will respect the basic rights of each individual to privacy, dignity, choice, respect and fulfilment and the facilities will allow the team to manage breakdowns effectively and with minimum disruption to progress should they occur, reducing the revolving door syndrome that is often seen in other, more fragmented care systems.
Heatherwood Court is committed to providing the highest quality service and each person will have an individually tailored treatment plan, which incorporates medical treatment, an educational component, life skills development and a range of therapies.
At all times the care provided will meet consistent company wide expectations and the client will have the ability to take the same specialist care team with them on their journey of rehabilitation, underlining the individuals abilities whilst empowering them to achieve.
A key component of the Heatherwood Court ‘model of care’ is the availability within the Group for rehabilitation to be continued in the community by referral to one of our specialist group homes within Ocean Community Services.
As well as providing treatment and rehabilitation on site in our Clinical Services unit, we believe it is essential to offer patients a high quality of life by providing them with well maintained environments, good community access and a wide range of leisure and occupational activities.
